A Little About Me

Words From Clients:

Working with Elsie is a special treat. She has a joyful attitude and is pleasant to be around. I love Elsie’s organic style. She has an open mind to the moment while shooting. She truly captures ‘day in the life’ moments that make memories come alive through her photos. –  Sweet Laurel

Elsie is a wonderfully talented photographer; we enjoyed her company and conversation as we spent a few hours outside at one of our favorite places. We didn’t even feel like we were at a photo shoot, Elsie followed along with us as we went about being a family and she captured raw and real moments that we will treasure forever. Her style is everything we want in a photographer and the results are amazing! Relaxed, natural, genuine, stress-free, no ‘posing’ needed…her guidance and friendly personality made it so simple and easy to have life captured in still photos. We can’t wait to shoot again with Elsie! – Andrew and Corey

Elsie is a magical old soul that has a gift of triggering emotion, conversation and settings in order to capture a vision. We have done pregnancy photos with her and were stunned at the results. – Brian and Lela

The 411:

Photography is my third language after English and Spanish. My work says more “about me” than I can describe in a paragraph. I love to photograph people at home or in a place where they feel comfortable. I like to be a part of the action, whether that means monkeying around with the kids or climbing up on the bed and getting cozy or digging and asking questions to generate thoughtful conversation-whatever it takes to capture moments that are genuine and natural and not forced or contrived.

A few other details: I burst out into song a whole lot, and I love listening to “Bluegrass Gospel” on Pandora. I wear clogs, bake lotsa loaves, love butter, and I occasionally make soap. I am a nanny, and I work as a mentor with young gals in my church. I am an only child but am blessed with many in-laws. I almost never make my hubby’s coffee right and I wear glasses and I usually talk too loud….and I would love to hear from you!

Psalm 19:1-3 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.”
